Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Coach, Artist Award Winning Coffee House Owner, Barista and Musician

Over the course of my career I have seen how great leaders across business and community can have a massive impact on people and important cause.

Below is a little bit about me in reverse chronological order

About Me: About Me

The Start - Leadership in Corporate World...

As a senior leader...  I have been responsible for the successful delivery of national change projects, the implementation of customer experience strategy and have also developed and led sales leaders and sales teams to deliver significant uplifts in performance. I started my career in retail banking seeking to deliver the best possible service for customers, from there I moved into sales and business development roles before overseeing teams and branches.  With a background in hitting my own targets, I moved into Sales Coaching, Change Management and Leadership Coaching - facilitating structural, procedural and cultural change at the highest level - in turn helping others to achieve their targets. A move into consulting in the insurance industry, a few years later, reinforced an acknowledgement of a natural ability to solve problems and overcome challenges with and through people. It was clear that I coach and develop people in a way I rarely see and the feedback I receive supports this. It was at this point that I realised that I could make a career out of coaching and facilitating.

The middle - part 1: Consultancy back into senior leadership

From my own consultancy; back to senior leadership... In 2016, after 7 successful years running my own consultancy, developing leadership teams and delivering coach training programme for some of the UK's largest organisations, as well as lecturing for Birminghjam City University, I decided to return to a senior leadership role. Overseeing a 3rd of the UK for one of the major banks in business and a form of relationship managed personal banking, I saw again at first hand what was needed to lead 'in the fire' and what is needed at the highest level; to manage the politics and pressures of balancing national and global objectives and dependencies. In late 2017, having moved our family to the Isle of Wight, I made the tough decision to leave banking once again to enable me to spend more time with my wife Becky, my son Willoughby and my then 'on the way' daughter (and now 4 years of age) Vera.

The middle - part 2: Opening an award winning coffee house

The Freshwater Coffee House... Skip ahead to April 2018, having looked at the dependencies (including becky and I being able to work together and the kids being able to 'run' around on site) - we decided to open - what is now an award winning Coffee House - The Freshwater Coffee House in Freshwater in the site of what was a a branch of Labrokes Bookies. Having never made a cup of coffee professionally, before opening, we were delighted to be named in the top 4 coffee houses in the UK in 2021 based upon our trip advisor reviews and to have now received the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award for the past 3 years. This award places us in the Top 10% of restaurants to visit in the world based upon the overall ratings we receive from people whom visit us.

The middle - part 3: The return to Executive & Leadership Coaching

A Return Back To Coaching... In 2020 in the midst of covid and lockdown one, and whilst raising £20,000 in a crowdfunder to save our coffee house - I decided I'd missed the thrill of coaching and working with senior leaders too much and some 4 years after having laid my coaching gloves to rest, I returned to coaching.

Today - Being my purpose through coaching

Helping Great People Deliver Great Things... It's always brought me a tremendous amount of satisfaction to watch those I work with grow and deliver successful uplifts in performance, teamwork and collaboration and in their own ability to lead.  Since becoming a father and owning our own business, in the heart of a community, it's become ever more important for me to use my coaching skills for greater good and to be a part of delivering changes which impact the world on a wider scale. On this basis; I have decided to throw open my diary fully again as an executive coach working with leaders responsible for delivering meaningful change in the areas it matters. Since returning to coaching in lockdown 1, I've had the pleasure of working with leaders delivering change in areas including:  - ESG & Corporate Social Responsibility  - British Farming  - The MOD  - Property Sector & Community Interest - NHS   If you work in any of these sectors or indeed wish to make a greater splash in leading change in the world; click here and we can set up an exploratory conversation or coaching programme. I look forward to speaking with you.

Away from coaching...

I beleive that life is for living. As well as being a passionate coach; I've applied myself to a few other disciplines over the years. In 2021, I rediscovered art; you can see more of my work at A few years ago, I was an award winning musician, singer and songrwiter, headlining what was the largest unsigned festival in Eurpoe as well as being asked to perform at a tribute concert to my hero Jeff Buckley, in Paris in 2008. This year, April, I returned to cycling after a gap of 20 years; completing time trials and round the Isle of Wight rides. You can find me on strava here. I'm hoping to be able to complete an Ironman in my 50th year - which isnt too far away. Away from 'all of that' - I'm a husband to Becky, a father to our two children, Willoughby (9) and Vera (4). Son of Carl and Chris from Wolverhapmton and brother to three siblings.
